Full Flower Moon: Healing and Letting Go

It’s hard to believe 2020 is almost half over, but I’ve begun to see even more clearly; and this moon, it’s time to say goodbye to that first half.

The Scorpio Flower Moon is a time for healing, letting go, and beginning a new chapter. have reflected on the opportunities I once accepted, realizing how undervalued and misunderstood I was.

The thing is, we aren’t aligned for every opportunity- and we don’t have to explain ourselves to those who don’t understand our journey.

The articles I wrote for publications that weren’t used? Now they’re relevant.

The businesses who didn’t want to pay me for my work? Farewell.

The people I confided in who turned around and talked about others behind their back to me? Those aren’t the kind of friends I need.

Creative work isn’t free.

Sometimes it can be difficult to see people trying to mask taking advantage of you as friendship- but I could never represent a brand, publication, or business who didn’t value people’s individuality, talents, or journey.

Henri Bendel “Align Astrology” launch event, 2016. A great brand I used to work with and will forever miss.

Now that I’ve seen the light, I know what my purpose is right now- and moving backward toward low energy isn’t in my cards.

This the perfect time to focus on my art, connect with others I met along the way, and use what I’ve learned to help others through my writing.

I’ve healed to the point where I now know my own worth, and this next half of 2020, I’ll no longer dim my light or reduce myself to what others want me to be.

Who knows what the future has in store, but I can tell you one thing: I’m not going back to the old normal.

Super Full Moon in Virgo- Healing Our Inner Child

It’s time to spring forward!

Daylight savings falls on the Super Full Moon in Virgo this year, and I got to enjoy the last night of “winter sunsets” on Lake Michigan in Leland last night. 😍 The sun set like fire along the shoreline, bringing me back to the days of growing up along this very water.

2020 has been a time of healing and self care, and it’s finally time to start emerging from our winter bubble and to shine a light on things that have felt foggy or unclear during the cooler season. Representing the virgin, this Virgo Full Moon will help you heal old childhood wounds and recharge your batteries for this next phase. The feminine energy of this moon will act as a warm hug while letting go of past pains, amplifying your confidence and divine feminine- so embrace it!

Lately I’ve had people re-enter my life, places remind me of my teenage years, and old friends take me back to the times when I was wide-eyed and innocent. Looking back on my younger days, I have a newfound compassion for myself, where my path has taken me, and the trial and error I’ve lived out through my decades of adventures. After learning about my 4/6 Profile in Human Design, it’s become clear I was meant to go on a journey of self-discovery, and this seems like an appropriate ending to that stage.

According to Forever Conscious, the collective is about to enter a new phase, as well:

March’s Full Moon is also preparing us for the start of the astrological year which begins on the Equinox later this month.

It is time for us to enter a new cycle, but before we can step onto this new path that is opening for us, we have to bring acceptance to where we stand today.

We have to radically accept our past, our pains, our grief, our mistakes, our triumphs, our family, our story, so we can move forward.

As we let go of the pain we’ve held onto, but perhaps buried under the surface, we can make space for what’s to come. Being conscious of what held us back from living authentically, loving others, or speaking our truth is an important part of our journey, so revisiting the life we once lived can be extremely healing during this full moon. Whether it’s visiting the nearby beach, meditating outside, or calling up an old friend, be sure to honor your inner child.

If you’re looking to harness the Super Full Moon energy, leave your crystals by the window to energize in the moonlight, sage your home, and spend time outside. The Full Moon is a time of amplified energy, so take some notes with your intentions, because this powerful moon is ideal for manifestation!

True Freedom: Letting Go of Resentments

As I strolled through the Back Bay and down to the Esplanade yesterday, I felt a new sense of freedom. It was a beautiful fall day, and I had the chance to head to my favorite spot in Boston- the Charles River.

The freedom I felt was greater than just being able to take time out to enjoy nature, though- it was a sense of freedom within.

I went to a meeting where I saw some people from my past who I avoided due to resentments- and not only did I face those people for the first time in over a year, I raised my hand and spoke about it.

“Resentments kept me sick and my secrets held me hostage.”

For a long time, I only let half of my true self be known.

People in the group nodded and smiled. Over the years, I found every reason in the book to avoid groups, places, jobs, family, or friends- all due to uncomfortable feelings, resentments, or disagreements. Running was my favorite pastime- but not in the jogging sense of the word. I ran from discomfort.

“I’m no longer willing to water down my story or hide from the world,” I continued. In the past I was extremely fearful of judgment or rejection- but the only person that hurt was me. The more honest I am, the more I learn how accepting others are- but I also learn which people don’t matter.

I’ve been working on being my authentic self, loving my truth, and owning my story no matter what others have to say about it, and that is the greatest freedom of all:

Freedom within.

The Elder: Standing Strong

Happy October! It’s a new month, a fresh week, and time to let go of the old. As the leaves begin to fall, we also remove the parts of our lives that no longer serve.

Last night I was introduced to Denise Linn’s Native Spirit Oracle deck, where we went around a circle to reflect on the messages of each card we chose. As I picked my card, “Elder,” I smiled and thought about the old soul I have always identified with. Always feeling a bit like the outsider yet content on my own, this card strung a chord with me.

“Confidence. Entering your power. Standing strong. You are a leader. Stepping into the light. Let your truth be heard and felt by others. Make a stand in life. You carried deep inner wisdom. You are a teacher and a leader in the deepest sense of the words. You are a beacon for others.”

The Elder card was confirmation I am on the right path by speaking my truth, sharing the stories that aren’t always very comfortable, and stepping forward even when I question myself. Having confidence in my creations is key for me to free myself from holding myself back from happiness, success, and serenity. Much like the crab who tries to escape, I must learn not to let others hold me back from the path I know I’m destined for.

Lately I’ve been around a lot of negativity, gossip, and pessimism- but the only way I’m getting through it is to rise above, share my insight, and continue to do what I know is right. I’ve learned to let things “roll off my back” and to stay in my own lane; although these things aren’t taught growing up (“be a part of the crowd!”), I’m content with being an individual as an adult.

The Elder may look on to the rest of the group, standing tall, alone in their journey, but I do know one thing: if you can’t stand strong and in your own truth, there isn’t any room to grow.

Gemini New Moon Intentions: Everything is About to Change

This New Moon is special.

It’s time to stop and smell the roses- for life is beautiful.  Society is what makes life stressful.  Not life itself.  We all have the power to live the life we love- the problem is, most people don’t realize this.

Falling under the sign of Gemini, associated with communication and the conscious mind, today’s June 13th New Moon at 3:43PM EST is the beginning, and the end, of the rest of your life.

Sounds kind of drastic, doesn’t it?

Honestly, not really.

These changes are internal.

Remember how you used to hold back as a kid, second guessed the things you said, or avoided creativity for the fear of what others may think?  Well, everything is about to change.

Big projects will come to fruition, you’ll gain confidence to use your voice, and things that used to scare you won’t any longer.

You’ll stop numbing your feelings and start using them as strengths.  You’ll use your struggles as lessons, and you’ll stop making the same mistakes twice.

Rushing will be a thing of the past, because you’ll start to recognize that what’s for you will not pass you.  Missing the train, rejection from a job, getting dumped by your boyfriend- these are all for reasons.

There is something bigger and better for you on the horizon.

So, sit back, and relax for once- with clear intentions, hard work, and clear communication, you will make your mark.

Just wait.  Trust the process.  Life is about to become even more beautiful.

Life Through A New Lens: Full Moon in Sagittarius

This morning I watched one of my favorite YouTubers, Melanie Beckler, give her weekly angel card reading for the May 29th Full Moon.  I’ve been following her closely for the past year- particularly her readings and meditations- and it’s been both eye-opening and comforting to see parallels with her guidance.

After soaking in her reading, I was left with a few messages about the upcoming Full Moon and how it relates to my own life:

  • It’s okay to ask for assistance- our guides and angels are here to support us;
  • We must let the past go to step into our true purpose; and
  • Once we understand who we truly are, we will live an abundant life.

In this particular reading, she ended with the Archangel Gabriel card- the angel of communication and creativity.  There has been no doubt in my mind that I have been lead by this powerful messenger angel; although I used to be timid or shy when speaking my truth, something bigger than me has given me the confidence and grace to speak up.  Keeping quiet never served me in the past, whether it was holding back in my writing or going with the values or morals of those around me instead of my own.

I’m just me.  So are you.

I often wonder if I have wasted my time or talents over the years because I did the things other people “expected” me to do.  However, that thought has shifted; each experience, whether valuable to my interests or not, has provided me a lesson to share with others.  I know what it’s like to move across the country multiple times, work a variety of different jobs, call off a wedding, live on hardly any money or material possessions, live with much more than I needed, yet most importantly- I have learned to be comfortable in my skin.

No matter where I am at mentally, physically, and emotionally, I have learned to be comfortable. To honor my feelings. To know I am okay just as I am.

That is the biggest lesson of all.

Situations will continue to appear in our lives until we can heal from the past and let go of the energies that no longer serve.  Even though I have cleared the major “junk” out of the way, there are little triggers that appear out of the blue to test me.  That’s okay; I just have to be mindful not to let those triggers trip me up, get me down, or stunt my growth.

Although Memorial Day weekend is coming to an end, I am relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to see the world through a different lens; a lens of beauty, hope, and optimism.

The past is gone, and now we have tomorrow- and a beautiful Full Moon to enjoy.
