Gemini New Moon Intentions: Everything is About to Change

This New Moon is special.

It’s time to stop and smell the roses- for life is beautiful.  Society is what makes life stressful.  Not life itself.  We all have the power to live the life we love- the problem is, most people don’t realize this.

Falling under the sign of Gemini, associated with communication and the conscious mind, today’s June 13th New Moon at 3:43PM EST is the beginning, and the end, of the rest of your life.

Sounds kind of drastic, doesn’t it?

Honestly, not really.

These changes are internal.

Remember how you used to hold back as a kid, second guessed the things you said, or avoided creativity for the fear of what others may think?  Well, everything is about to change.

Big projects will come to fruition, you’ll gain confidence to use your voice, and things that used to scare you won’t any longer.

You’ll stop numbing your feelings and start using them as strengths.  You’ll use your struggles as lessons, and you’ll stop making the same mistakes twice.

Rushing will be a thing of the past, because you’ll start to recognize that what’s for you will not pass you.  Missing the train, rejection from a job, getting dumped by your boyfriend- these are all for reasons.

There is something bigger and better for you on the horizon.

So, sit back, and relax for once- with clear intentions, hard work, and clear communication, you will make your mark.

Just wait.  Trust the process.  Life is about to become even more beautiful.

Life Through A New Lens: Full Moon in Sagittarius

This morning I watched one of my favorite YouTubers, Melanie Beckler, give her weekly angel card reading for the May 29th Full Moon.  I’ve been following her closely for the past year- particularly her readings and meditations- and it’s been both eye-opening and comforting to see parallels with her guidance.

After soaking in her reading, I was left with a few messages about the upcoming Full Moon and how it relates to my own life:

  • It’s okay to ask for assistance- our guides and angels are here to support us;
  • We must let the past go to step into our true purpose; and
  • Once we understand who we truly are, we will live an abundant life.

In this particular reading, she ended with the Archangel Gabriel card- the angel of communication and creativity.  There has been no doubt in my mind that I have been lead by this powerful messenger angel; although I used to be timid or shy when speaking my truth, something bigger than me has given me the confidence and grace to speak up.  Keeping quiet never served me in the past, whether it was holding back in my writing or going with the values or morals of those around me instead of my own.

I’m just me.  So are you.

I often wonder if I have wasted my time or talents over the years because I did the things other people “expected” me to do.  However, that thought has shifted; each experience, whether valuable to my interests or not, has provided me a lesson to share with others.  I know what it’s like to move across the country multiple times, work a variety of different jobs, call off a wedding, live on hardly any money or material possessions, live with much more than I needed, yet most importantly- I have learned to be comfortable in my skin.

No matter where I am at mentally, physically, and emotionally, I have learned to be comfortable. To honor my feelings. To know I am okay just as I am.

That is the biggest lesson of all.

Situations will continue to appear in our lives until we can heal from the past and let go of the energies that no longer serve.  Even though I have cleared the major “junk” out of the way, there are little triggers that appear out of the blue to test me.  That’s okay; I just have to be mindful not to let those triggers trip me up, get me down, or stunt my growth.

Although Memorial Day weekend is coming to an end, I am relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to see the world through a different lens; a lens of beauty, hope, and optimism.

The past is gone, and now we have tomorrow- and a beautiful Full Moon to enjoy.

New Moon Vibes- Spring Has Sprung!

Although the New Moon was over the weekend, I’ve been really feeling it these past couple of days.  Perhaps it’s a combination of the moon and Mercury snapping out of retrograde (whew), but I’ve been feeling refreshed, calm, and balanced.

Instead of being overcome with emotions- both good or bad- I’ve been feeling more neutral.  People haven’t been pushing my buttons like they used to, comments aren’t being taken so personally, and my anxiety about everyday things- such as commuting or finishing up a task at work- isn’t so bad.

I’ve been choosing what to care about and what to put my energy towards.

This New Moon was in Aries, which is the first astrological sign of the zodiac.  So, it only makes sense to be feeling a bit fresh- it’s the New Year!  I like that thought, too- now is the beginning of a brand new cycle.  We’re all able to pay attention to what is around us, take control of our thoughts, and focus on what is happening in the now.

That’s how I want to live in this new year, new spring, and new season.

Spring is a time of rebirth, growth, and manifestation; as the old falls away, the new comes into form.  I spent the majority of the winter cooped up writing, planning, and coming up with ideas- which served its purpose during the cold, snowy months.  I had been busy planting seeds for what was next, and even though I was taking steps each day, my ideas weren’t ready to grow- until now.

Just like the spring, everything has its cycle- planting, growth, and blossoming.

Over the weekend I did my usual routine- a Saturday stroll through Boston Common, journaling in the Public Garden, and window shopping on Newbury Street.  It’s finally starting to look like spring, and I’m excited to watch the flowers start to bloom… just like new projects, ideas, and dreams.

How to Survive Mercury Retrograde

It’s that time of year again!

If you’re familiar with Mercury Retrograde, you know what I’m talking about.  Mercury, the planet of communication, goes into reverse, causing a three week period of communication confusion, technical complications, and travel issues.  Since the planet is actually going backwards, it effects our lives here on earth, too.

We moved into retrograde on December 3rd (the day of the Supermoon) and will be in it until December 22nd (my birthday!).  The last Mercury Retrograde occurred August 12th to September 5th, where we prepared for new beginnings.  Many of us felt this energy; I know I did.  One example of my own Mercury Retrograde mishaps included losing my phone, which happened at a terrible time- while I was interviewing for jobs and doing temp work.  Nobody could get a hold of me for three very crucial days- or so I thought.  This was a huge lesson for me to slow down after unknowingly running on nervous energy for weeks.  Instead of managing my time effectively or going with the flow, I was chasing my tail.

I also realized I had been relying on my phone too much.  During the five days I didn’t have my phone, I began talking to people for directions, walked even more than usual, learned new areas of the city, and even used a payphone (yes, they still exist).  It made me value my own quiet time, reminded me to pick up that library book I checked out, and was a lesson about the kindness of strangers.  Not only did I survive the fiasco, but I made a new friend in the process- I got an email from a Good Samaritan who had found my phone in the park!

Depending on how you see it, Mercury Retrograde has positive aspects that can provide great lessons.  Just as I lost my primary form of communication, my phone, I gained an appreciation for slowing down.  This is also a good time to clean house.  Mercury Retrograde allows you to let go of any past feelings or behaviors that no longer serve you.  Although these lessons are helpful, there are many ways to avoid these common mishaps, too!

Be Careful What You Say

Don’t be surprised if your blunt opinion isn’t well-received!  December’s Mercury in Retrograde is ruled by firey Sagittarius, which could cause others to take your joke the wrong way.  Be sure to think before you speak!

Proofread Everything

Spell check, make sure you included the attachment, and don’t send the email to the wrong recipient!  These are all typical communication mishaps that can happen during the retrograde.

Avoiding Starting New Projects

Keep working on your existing projects, but don’t start something new, sign any contracts, or make major decisions during this time.  There is bound to be miscommunication, confusion, or arguments.  Hold off until after the holidays- it will be a less stressful time, anyway,

Don’t Make Big Purchases

A lot of electronics can go haywire during the retrograde.  I’ve been told to avoid making electronic purchases, such as phones, laptops, or TVs- since this can’t always be avoided, it’s a good idea to invest in the warranty!

Give Yourself Time to Travel

It’s the holidays, so many of us will be traveling near and far.  Allow extra time when going to the airport, check the traffic map before leaving the house, and be sure you clicked the right button when purchasing tickets (yes, this is a true story- someone bought me a plane ticket once for the wrong month).

Bottom line: double check, double check, double check!  Don’t be afraid to go outside this Mercury Retrograde- just slow down and think before you speak.  Remember, it’s a time to clean house and move forward.  The past is a place of reference- not a place of residence!

Get ready for 2018- it will be a time to embrace being the authentic you that you stepped into in 2017.
