New Moon in Virgo: Time to Fly!

The New Moon is my favorite time every month, representing the beginning of a new cycle and phase of our lives.

We say goodbye to the last chapter, welcoming the new energy before us.

Now is the time to spread your wings and fly.

Have you been thinking about starting that new project, taking a leap of faith, or working on something creative?  With this New Moon energy, you’ll be beautifully supported in your latest endeavor.

Listen to your intuition- what is it telling you?

From one of my favorite sites, Forever Conscious:

August has held the potential to be a turning point month so if you are feeling like your life could use some fresh inspiration or motivation, if you have been feeling a little stuck or stagnant or resistant to change, set an intention or take a small action under this New Moon in order to seal this energy into your life.

The cosmos offer the energy, but we have to be the ones to take it and integrate it into our being. This energy only exists as a potential unless we step forward and make the most of it.

Seeing as this New Moon falls in the sign of Virgo, we are also going to receive the comfort and support from Virgo’s totem, the Virgin Goddess. Although she is a Goddess, her energy applies to all genders.

You can read more about the meaning behind the Virgin Goddess in my Virgo Season article, but essentially, this is a time of independence and for standing in our truth. It is also a time for getting organized and getting our priorities in order, including our health.

What are we giving our time and energy to that is not supporting the vision or life we wish to create?

Creativity is a huge part of my life, but in the past I’ve held back from fully expressing myself, putting my work out there, or believing in my own art.

As I spread my own wings and take a chance, my spirit is lifted and my creations seem to come naturally.

I’m excited to see what this next chapter brings- and I know I’m supported in my journey.

Loving The New You

For years and years, I tried to hold onto the Kristin I once was.

I romanticized old lovers and bad habits, altered the person I was to fit with the people around me, and questioned who I was to the core.  I continually ran from myself, jet-setting to a new city only to discover I was still exactly where I always was.

You can’t escape your soul.

The same people or places I tried to avoid would resurface no matter what neighborhood, city, or state I was in- they may have had a different face, but they were always the same.

Everything I tried to steer clear of would manifest in one form or another until I learned two valuable lessons:

  1. I needed to love who (and where) I was
  2. I needed a new perspective

I couldn’t change what was going on around me, but I could accept where I was at- but most of all, accept myself.

Since I started writing about my sobriety, a whole new world has opened up.  I have stopped thinking I needed to sugarcoat my struggles, and I am no longer ashamed of the person I am.  The quirks that make me who I am are ones I want to celebrate- not hide!

Maybe that “you” who you love isn’t new after all, but it’s one who is authentic.  Embrace her- she’s worth it!

Gemini New Moon Intentions: Everything is About to Change

This New Moon is special.

It’s time to stop and smell the roses- for life is beautiful.  Society is what makes life stressful.  Not life itself.  We all have the power to live the life we love- the problem is, most people don’t realize this.

Falling under the sign of Gemini, associated with communication and the conscious mind, today’s June 13th New Moon at 3:43PM EST is the beginning, and the end, of the rest of your life.

Sounds kind of drastic, doesn’t it?

Honestly, not really.

These changes are internal.

Remember how you used to hold back as a kid, second guessed the things you said, or avoided creativity for the fear of what others may think?  Well, everything is about to change.

Big projects will come to fruition, you’ll gain confidence to use your voice, and things that used to scare you won’t any longer.

You’ll stop numbing your feelings and start using them as strengths.  You’ll use your struggles as lessons, and you’ll stop making the same mistakes twice.

Rushing will be a thing of the past, because you’ll start to recognize that what’s for you will not pass you.  Missing the train, rejection from a job, getting dumped by your boyfriend- these are all for reasons.

There is something bigger and better for you on the horizon.

So, sit back, and relax for once- with clear intentions, hard work, and clear communication, you will make your mark.

Just wait.  Trust the process.  Life is about to become even more beautiful.

Life Through A New Lens: Full Moon in Sagittarius

This morning I watched one of my favorite YouTubers, Melanie Beckler, give her weekly angel card reading for the May 29th Full Moon.  I’ve been following her closely for the past year- particularly her readings and meditations- and it’s been both eye-opening and comforting to see parallels with her guidance.

After soaking in her reading, I was left with a few messages about the upcoming Full Moon and how it relates to my own life:

  • It’s okay to ask for assistance- our guides and angels are here to support us;
  • We must let the past go to step into our true purpose; and
  • Once we understand who we truly are, we will live an abundant life.

In this particular reading, she ended with the Archangel Gabriel card- the angel of communication and creativity.  There has been no doubt in my mind that I have been lead by this powerful messenger angel; although I used to be timid or shy when speaking my truth, something bigger than me has given me the confidence and grace to speak up.  Keeping quiet never served me in the past, whether it was holding back in my writing or going with the values or morals of those around me instead of my own.

I’m just me.  So are you.

I often wonder if I have wasted my time or talents over the years because I did the things other people “expected” me to do.  However, that thought has shifted; each experience, whether valuable to my interests or not, has provided me a lesson to share with others.  I know what it’s like to move across the country multiple times, work a variety of different jobs, call off a wedding, live on hardly any money or material possessions, live with much more than I needed, yet most importantly- I have learned to be comfortable in my skin.

No matter where I am at mentally, physically, and emotionally, I have learned to be comfortable. To honor my feelings. To know I am okay just as I am.

That is the biggest lesson of all.

Situations will continue to appear in our lives until we can heal from the past and let go of the energies that no longer serve.  Even though I have cleared the major “junk” out of the way, there are little triggers that appear out of the blue to test me.  That’s okay; I just have to be mindful not to let those triggers trip me up, get me down, or stunt my growth.

Although Memorial Day weekend is coming to an end, I am relaxed, rejuvenated, and ready to see the world through a different lens; a lens of beauty, hope, and optimism.

The past is gone, and now we have tomorrow- and a beautiful Full Moon to enjoy.
