Connecting With Something Bigger Than You

Everyone has their own way of connecting with something bigger than themselves.

For some, it means religion, while for others, it’s through connecting with nature, animals, or music.  From believing in the natural flow of the universe to seeing a higher power work through other people, there is no doubt in my mind that I am being guided by something bigger than me.

There have been times I’ve missed a train, noticed a street sign, or gotten a phone call that made me realize there was something out there working in my favor.

If I had gotten on the first train, I wouldn’t have bumped into an old friend on the second one.

Had I not spotted the street sign, I wouldn’t have thought of a potential writing topic.

Just as I was thinking of someone, they called.

My higher power shows me signs in my everyday life.

Not only do I believe in connecting with source energy- keeping my thoughts positive and my vibration high– but I also believe in being guided by angels.  Just the other day, after thinking about my Grandma Arlene, I found a dime and my lost Angelite stone under my bed while looking for a pair of shoes.

There are no coincidences in my life.

You never know why things happen the way they do, but you can take some comfort in knowing that they always find a way to work.

Just be open and aware- you may be surprised at what you find.

Here is an interesting video about feeling disconnected from the physical world when you experience a spiritual awakening.

And Still I Rise

The Boston I live in is a magical, mystical city full of beauty, promise, and joy.

I spent the weekend outside, enjoying the 66 degree weather along the Harbor. I took a stroll down the Greenway, admired the public art, and grabbed a coffee at Rowe’s Wharf.

The Boston I live in represents the potential that is accessible to all of us, whether it’s seizing the day or seeing the best in ourselves.

My beautiful Sunday afternoon reminded me that no matter how many times I may have fallen, made mistakes, or took a detour in life, I have the power to brush myself off, stand up, and rise.

I moved to Massachusetts over two years ago with a blank slate, and I have been able to discover my true self in the process. I have had the opportunity to dig deep into my soul and learn who I am, what I want to be, and where I want to go. I found my own beauty within, and I have noticed the beauty all around me as well.

Whether you’re raising your sails for a new adventure or picking yourself back up, you have the power to rise, too.

Just remember to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the beauty that is right in front of you.

Year 34

Today I turned 34.

Yes, it’s my birthday!

Some people may dread getting older, but I welcome it with open arms. As each new year of my life approaches, I feel grateful for all I have learned, everything I’ve experienced, and for another trip around the sun.

As an old soul, I always felt wise beyond my years. I finally feel I am catching up to how I feel inside. Perhaps some of you can relate to that.

It wasn’t an easy year, but it was a year full of growth. I’m thrilled to say hello to 2019, and all of the exciting new chapters I’m about to write.

Here’s to year 34!
