If It Doesn’t Apply, Let It Fly

A few weeks ago a friend of mine made a comment after a few others around us were in the midst of minor chaos.

If it doesn’t apply, let it fly,” she said. I smiled, thinking carefully about these very true words.

If only everyone realized life can be that simple.

Why do we fill our minds with useless drama? Why would we choose to live in any other state but peace?

As we awaken and realize the true purpose of life- to live with joy and love- we begin to let the “small stuff” go. We begin to focus on ourselves, what makes us happy, and stop paying so much attention to what others are doing.

A counselor of mine gave me some simple, yet life changing advice as well: to stay in the far right lane.

Why bother to be stuck in the middle of the traffic when you can live life in your own lane- one with a beautiful, peaceful view?

Ever since hearing the words of wisdom from both of these individuals, I’ve been focusing on my own happiness even more than before. Some may see my disinterest as a lack of care or concern, but until I can either be helpful or productive to others during a small crisis, I’ll stay out of it.

I hope others would do the same for me, too.
