Archangel Gabriel: The Messenger

Everyone has a Guardian Angel, yet we may not know who it is.  I have always intuitively known there was something, somewhere looking out for me- especially after challenging and painful situations.  I’ve looked back on my San Francisco and NYC years and wondered why I always managed to land on my feet, despite being careless (and not treating myself very kindly).  If it weren’t for these experiences, I wouldn’t be able to help bring strength and light to others- especially females who question their worth, talents, or power.

Today, there’s no doubt in my mind I was meant to fulfill a mission: and I am confident my mission is to be some sort of a messenger.  Whether it’s through writing, speaking, teaching, or mentoring, I know my gifts will manifest through serving others with my experience, strength, and hope.

A while back I read an article about Guardian Angels, with tips on how to channel them and discover who they are.  I always had the names “Gabrielle,” “Gabriel,” or “Gabe” in the back of my mind, not really knowing why.  After weeks of meditation and conscious contact, the name still wouldn’t go away- so I turned to the internet, of course, to learn more.  Sure enough, I discovered a powerful Archangel named Gabriel.

Ever since, I have channeled Gabriel’s strength in my writing, art, and in the classroom.  When I feel creative blockages, communication anxiety, or doubt within my strengths, I look to Archangel Gabriel to help guide me.  Yes- it works!

Background

Gabriel is a powerful angel who is mentioned in Christianity, Judiasm, and Islam.  Not only is Gabriel an important angel within religion, he is also a wonderful guide within the spiritual world, too.  Referred to as either male or female (depending on the source), Archangel Gabriel is the angel of communication who supports writers, teachers, journalists, postal workers, diplomats, clergy people, artists, mothers, and other messengers.

Christians believe Gabriel informed the Virgin Mary that she was chosen by God to become the mother of Jesus Christ.  Announcing the births of Isaac, John the Baptist, and Jesus, Gabriel is also called the “Christmas Angel”  (appropriate for today!).  In the Jewish scriptures, Gabriel appears to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions.  Gabriel (Jibreel) also visited the prophet Muhammad, revealing the beginnings of what would later become the Qur’an.  During these visits, Gabriel provided challenges to Muhammad, testing his knowledge of the Islam tenets.

Like Archangel Michael (another favorite of mine), Archangel Gabriel is one of the only Archangels mentioned in the Bible.  Gabriel, meaning “God is my strength,” is also referred to as the angel of revelation because God often chose Gabriel to deliver important messages to the world.

Connecting with Gabriel

Gabriel is a wonderful angel to connect with during meditation, while working on a writing project, during a speaking engagement, or in your own teachings.  So, how do you connect with Gabriel?

Stones

Crystals are an amazing way to connect with angels, receive guidance, and help to heal.  I did a bit of research to learn which stones would benefit my creativity and connection with Archangel Gabriel, and was pleased to learn I owned a few of them already!

Citrine is a powerful stone that I wear on my left wrist to stimulate creative energy and connect with Gabriel.  Moonstone, Selenite, and Aquamarine are other gems to assist with this communication.  Here’s more information on connecting with Archangel Gabriel through crystals.

Card Readings

My favorite cards for guidance is the Archangel Gabriel deck by Doreen Virtue.  Meant for creatives and communicators, these cards give accurate angel readings to provide encouraging messages to strengthen your work.  Whenever I need a little nudge in the right direction, these cards are spot-on.  It’s so refreshing to receive the perfect message just in the nick of time.

Email me if you’re interested in a reading!

Guided Meditation and Mediums

Some spiritual guides have the gift of delivering messages they believe come from Gabriel himself.  Melanie Beckler of Ask-Angels.com has a variety of meditations and messages to connect you to Archangel Gabriel.

Whether you’re experienced in angel healing or are just learning, Gabriel is a wonderful angel to connect with.  As a warrior angel, I deeply relate to Gabriel’s strength, knowledge, and communication skills.  With the power of our guides, we are able to face any challenges life brings our way- we just have to relax, connect, and believe.
